I'm Chad,
and I have too many hobbies.
Apps, 3D prints, a rack of servers in the basement, and a growing pile of digitized family film.
Apps
Mostly for iPhone and iPad, and mostly because I wanted one to exist.
CookieCaddie Live
Draw or trace a shape on your iPad, and get back a real 3D-printable cookie cutter as an STL. The R2 cutter further down the page came out of it.
cookiecaddie.bonadonna.net →MAHJ Live
A tableside guide to American Mah Jongg. Keep your rack in the app and it ranks the hands on the card by how close you are, names the tiles you still need, and flags the hands that have gone dead.
mahj.bonadonna.net →Threaddit In progress
A needlepoint stash tracker for Mac, iPhone and iPad — what you own by colour, manufacturer, product line and dye lot, so you stop rebuying the skein that's already in the box.
Reston Trails In progress
Most trail apps track the route you took. This one tracks coverage of a network: all 76.5 miles of Reston pathway, and which bits are still left.
Chesterfield In progress
A household media tracker — TV, film, books and games in one place, with real posters and metadata pulled in automatically instead of typed by hand.
3D Printing
Designing and printing the small plastic thing that ought to exist but doesn't.
Homelab
Things I self-host, mostly to answer questions nobody sells an answer to.
Wegmans Price Tracker Source
Pulls my grocery receipt history into a local database and charts it — spending over time, price history per item, and what grocery inflation actually looks like on the things I buy.
github.com →Next project In progress
Room for whatever's currently half-built on the shelf.
Family Archive
A long-running project to get four decades of family pictures and video off formats nobody can play anymore, and into something that will still open in thirty years.
Family Photo Sorter In progress
A swipe-based app the whole family can use to date and place scanned photos — tap through a stack, and it writes the date and location straight into each file's metadata.
Film & negatives
Boxes of negatives, slides and prints, scanned at a resolution worth keeping and matched back to who and when.
Tape & VHS
Camcorder tapes and VHS captured before the tape binder gives out, which it is quietly doing to all of them right now.
Photos
A gallery lives here. Nothing in it yet.
Placeholder for now — photos will go in the photos/ folder.
